About Monkey Paw Construction
Built From the Ground Up — Literally
Monkey Paw Construction Inc. was founded by Leslie Hurlburt — a man who picked up his first tool at age 6 and never put it down. What started as a passion for woodworking grew into decades of hands-on construction experience, and eventually into one of Michigan’s most trusted roofing and concrete companies.

The Monkey Paw Standard
At Monkey Paw Construction, we don’t measure success in volume — we measure it in quality. Every roof we replace, every driveway we pour, every insurance claim we fight for is handled with the same care as if it were our own home. Our owner Leslie has been in the trades since he was six years old. That’s not a marketing line — that’s the foundation of everything we do. When you hire Monkey Paw, you’re hiring a team that grew up doing this work. We use only in-house crews because we believe accountability starts before the first nail goes in. When our name is on the job, our people are on the job.
